A lifestyle brand tested a 15-hectare UK hemp program with plot-level reporting and evidence attachments before committing to volume.

Challenge

Hemp was strategically important but commercially unproven. Leadership wanted proof of practices and yield trends without a full multi-year contract.

Approach

  • Co-designed a pilot scope with the Hemp Innovation Program project page as a starting point
  • Required monthly reports with soil and input indicators plus photo evidence
  • Kept farm identity gated until mutual NDA and visit completed
  • Published a single listing when the producer was ready to discuss commercial terms

Results

  • Secured board approval for year-two expansion based on six months of approved data
  • Used anonymized aggregate charts in investor materials
  • Activated register-interest workflow for backup suppliers in the same region

The pilot stayed small on hectares but large on learning—we could show numbers, not just narrative.
