Apparel brand scales organic cotton with verified farm data

A European apparel team replaced spreadsheet trackers with monthly farm reports and a shortlist of NOP-certified producers in northern Mexico.

Challenge

The sourcing team needed to move from a single pilot gin to multiple farms without losing certification traceability or overwhelming suppliers with duplicate questionnaires.

Approach

  • Mapped fiber and region priorities to active farms in the FiberWay network
  • Used Explorer preview, then Roots tier for full browse and shortlist
  • Aligned monthly report schemas to the indicators their CSRD workflow required
  • Ran admin-reviewed reports through one approval path before buyer visibility

Results

  • Cut supplier questionnaire duplication by consolidating on platform reports
  • Shortlisted four farms with approved monthly data before field visits
  • Linked partnership project in Chihuahua to a structured activation timeline

We finally had one place where certification, farm indicators, and our shortlist lived together—instead of three different decks.
